HERITAGE SITES AND TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

(List of attractions)

Jersey is an extremely beautiful place to visit - with a huge variety of scenery, from towering and rugged cliffs in the north to soft, sandy beaches in the south. A network of cliff paths will take you well away from the roads and afford stunning views of our beautiful coastline and across to the other islands.

Although a lot of the island is now developed there are still large areas of natural beauty to enjoy like Les Landes heathland, Les Mielles conservation area, St. Ouens beach, St. Catherine's woods, Corbiere headland and the Railway Walk.

Well maintained tracks through valley areas are a place to enjoy a gentle amble through leafy tranquility and if you are lucky you may well catch a glimpse of the now rare red squirrel scurrying amongst the branches of the trees. This little island has also been the site of many interesting changes in history, the evidence of which still remains today in the form of dolmens, ancient forts and castles.

I have set out below a list of tourist attractions and opening hours (as of July 2009). I will periodically update this list, but it is always best to check on these opening hours when you arrive in the island because there are slight seasonal differences. If you phone our Daily Diary on 1882 on your arrival you will hear the latest opening times.

Items marked *** are part of the Jersey Heritage Trust and some of their venues are open seasonally. In the past they have also offered discount tickets (to visit three sites for the price of two).  It is probably wise, therefore, to contact them before you visit.
