Directions to the Eric Young Orchid Foundation (by car)

Jersey Bus timetables can be found here

There are a few ways to reach the Foundation but I'm giving the one that I think is simplest to follow and I'm pre-supposing that you can find your way to a significant St. Helier landmark, i.e. Howard Davis Park.

You need to start from the from the bottom of Mont Millais, where it joins Don Road and Colomberie. (This area is also where the main entrance to Howard Davis Park is situated).

Go up the hill which is called Mont Millais, following the main road and passing two major secondary schools - Victoria College on the left and, shortly afterwards, the Girls College.

Keep going straight all the way, on through the little crossroads with Les Varines and La Rue du Froid Vent. (Shortly afterwards you'll pass St. Saviours primary school on your left, which will indicate you're on the right track)!

You pass the little parade of shops on your left and have to stop at the tiny roundabout at Five Oaks.

Take the exit second left - the smallest road off the roundabout, called La Rue a la Dame, which runs down the side of the Five Oaks Pub. It's a one way, small leafy lane and very quickly you'll have to stop at a crossroads with Bel Air Lane and La Ruette. Go straight ahead and down the little hill.

You'll stop at the bottom of the hill where it makes a T-junction with Les Grand Vaux (the reservoir is just in front of you now). Turn right and follow the main road as it continues beside the water. The water is on your left.

After about a quarter of a mile the road rises onto a steep hill called Le Mont de la Rosiere, leaving Grand Vaux Reservoir behind. Continue on up that hill.

At the top you are at the start of Victoria Village. Follow the main road, keeping straight on and passing the road La Commune which descends away to your left.

Very shortly after that is the entrance to a small housing development called Le Clos Vert and then a very small road left, passed Les Jardins de Puits. Take that turning left - by now you should be seeing signs for the Foundation. As you follow that road (which is one way) the entrance to the Foundation is a short way along on the left.

~~~~~~~~~~~
When you leave the Foundation you'll have to turn left and follow the road down into a quiet and leafy valley. Turn left at the bottom and then first left again. The hill you'll be on is La Commune and will take you back up into Victoria Village. To get back to town just turn right and follow the road back down to Grand Vaux (from whence you came earlier in the day!)
If you continue to follow the reservoir road and stay with it as it winds away from the water and through the big housing estate, you'll eventually come out at the bottom of Trinity Hill and on the edge of town.
